The Y.E.S. House has been awarded a grant of $5,000. The Impact Youth Mentorship project was funded by the Wyoming Women’s Foundation.
This grant is used to match vulnerable girls with positive role models. The Mentorship Program matches caring individuals with children and youth for at least one year. These awesome volunteers provide support, advice and friendship.
Quotes from a mentor and mentee:
A 10-year old mentee shared, “I just love coming to school now. I get so excited to be able to see my mentor. I really like being able to talk about my day, do crafts, and just visit with my mentor.”
Her mentor, who has been a Gillette resident her whole life, and has done mentorship for several years said “To be a mentor is so rewarding and you make lifetime friendships. These kids look up to you for guidance and support. You can share experiences and learn from each other as well. When you get with your mentee and they are truly excited to see you, you know you are making a difference in this girl’s life.”
A HUGE THANK YOU to Wyoming Women’s Foundation!
